While writing The Visions of Bezek, I collected a few books to read for research. I was curious to see how other authors tackled some aspects that I wanted to focus on in my story.
The primary goal for my book was to develop a small town community through a series of short horror stories. This is my first book, after all. In the end, I read about eleven books for research.
One of those books was Clive Barker's Books of Blood, Volumes One to Three.
In my opinion, Clive Barker is best known for giving life to the Hellraiser series of movies and books, but this book was also very memorable. I picked it for research because it's a collection of short stories in the horror genre by a popular author. There are a lot of impressive stories in this book. Each one differs greatly from the last. If you like the horror genre, I highly recommend it. You'll have a great time. I don't; however, recommend the movies based on these stories. They fall a little short, to say the least.
