A great deal of June was spent working on drafts of “He’s Going to Kill You,” but that was by no means the highlight of June. It’s a special month for me, the month of my anniversary with my wonderful wife. These last few years have been fairly low key anniversary celebrations, but this year we got out and went to a new state.

Every year, wedding anniversaries serve as beautiful reminders of the love, commitment, and memories shared by couples. What better way to celebrate than with adventure, relaxation, and delicious food? This year, my wife and I embarked on an unforgettable journey to commemorate our six-year anniversary. I’m going to hit the highlights below.

At the top of our list was an amazing restaurant in Nashville called The Chef and I. As food enthusiasts, we always plan our vacations around where we’re going to eat. This was no different. On the last leg of our trip, we visited Nashville, Tennessee to eat at The Chef and I. They have a special seven course tasting menu, which costs more than I care to remember. We can’t afford to come back for another year (or two), but it was absolutely worth it. Each dish was a masterpiece of flavors and presentation. From the first bite to the last, we were impressed. If you’re in the Nashville area, and have a good reason to spend all your money, I highly recommend this restaurant. It certainly made our anniversary memorable.
On our anniversary vacation, we spent most of our time escaping away to a lake house at The Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky. The picturesque area provided a serene and secluded setting, allowing us to take in the inner peace of nature and spend some quality time together. Surrounded by the breathtaking views, we enjoyed exploring the national park and surrounding areas. Honestly, I could have spent another few days just staring at the lake from the lake house. It was a breathtaking view, and a perfect place for our anniversary.

Also, making the list was our visit to the Lost River Cave in Kentucky. Nestled within the town of Bowling Green, Kentucky, is a cave that has a river running through it. The cave provides a unique adventure offering guided boat tours that drift through the mysterious caverns. Though the tour was a little shorter than expected, it was memorable. The guide was knowledgeable and shared fascinating stories about the cave’s history, making the experience even more immersive.
There’s more, but not enough time to tell it all. As we reflect upon our six-year journey together, this anniversary getaway stands out as a memorable chapter in our love story. Having stayed a few nights in Kentucky, I can now mark it off on my map of travels. Only 40+ states left to go *Sad Laughter*

Post‑Anniversary, we found a great cooperative game to play called Lost Castle. If you’re looking for a rogue‑like game to play with friends or family. I highly recommend it. It’s a straightforward hack‑and‑slash with rogue‑like elements. We’ve hit about fifteen hours with it and still going strong. Check it out here.
